👍 Weekend tinkering done, and an upgrade to a previous project: "ESPHome Tutorial: Motion Sensing / Triggered Switch Strip Lighting - with Timer" Originally had a WAAAYY too sensitive "Radar" sensor - Now I'm using a VL53 (Time of Flight or Distance Measuring) sensor. Now, the lights in my "Parts Area" come on when I'm within 90cm and go off 6 Seconds after I leave. 🥳 🛠 Smaller Case too !!! #3DPrinting #HomeAssistant #Sensors #DIY #Electronics

Shortly after My IKEA stuff arrived, I shouted: "Alexa, turn on Soldering Iron" 😁 A few hours later and the #IKEA FÖRNUFTIG Air purifier was stripped, reversed engineered (I.E. Prodded with the Multi-meter and Scope) and a D1 Mini was grafted to her. 🥳 She's gone from a 'Dumb' 3-Speed unit to a Home Assistant controllable SIX SPEED!!! "Smart" lady.

Proto-typing a home automation Dual Bed Presence Detector. 😎 Uses 'Load Cells' to detect people, has LEDs for each bed side and, using a DALLAS temperature sensor, controls an Electric Blanket !! However, I needed more GPIOs than a Sonoff Basic and an easy way to Mains power a D1 Mini so,.... I cut the Sonoff in half to use it's PSU and relay 🤣 #HomeAssistant #ESPHome #DIY #Project
